A SOFTER WAY TO BUILD

Boon designs and builds sculptural kitchens and joinery in London. Our approach, Warm Modernism, brings together the permanence and material richness of traditional joinery with the clarity of contemporary design.

Softened forms, visible weight, tactile materials and continuous details create kitchens that feel substantial, intuitive and made to hold life. We design and build as one continuous process. From the first drawing to the finished room, every decision is part of the same idea.

Not simply a kitchen. The Soft Centre of the modern home.

FOUNDER'S STORY

Orlando Bevan grew up around woodworking, workshops and making. Materials, joinery and craft were part of the background long before they became the focus.

After co-founding Portobello Projects, Orlando spent a decade working across residential interiors and increasingly concentrating on the joinery that shaped them: kitchens, cabinetry, materials and the small design decisions that changed how a room felt.

He kept returning to the same gap in the kitchen world. Traditional kitchens offered warmth, craft and permanence, but often looked backwards. Modern kitchens offered architectural clarity, but could feel cold, thin or anonymous. Boon was created to offer another path.

Warm Modernism brings together softened forms, substantial edges, tactile materials and a sense of flow through the home. Working with designers, makers and specialist partners, Orlando leads each project from its first idea through design development and making.
