Joinery that fits the wider programme.

Boon works alongside main contractors, builders and site teams to deliver kitchens and architectural joinery as part of larger residential projects.

We understand that good joinery relies on more than the cabinetry itself. It depends on accurate information, clear responsibility, good sequencing and coordination with the trades around it.

Our role is to make that part of the project straightforward.

How we work

Boon can be appointed directly by the client, architect, interior designer or contractor Depending on the project, we can take responsibility for kitchen design and development, detailed joinery design, material and finish specification, manufacture, delivery installation, coordination with relevant trades and suppliers.

Our agreed quotation and scope will make clear exactly what sits with Boon and what remains with the wider project team.

The earlier we are involved, the easier it is to resolve the details that affect the finished joinery. We can review drawings and site information before manufacture to coordinate:

  • Room dimensions
  • Floor and finished floor levels
  • Wall build-upsServices
  • Appliance requirements
  • Lighting
  • Worktops and stone
  • Tiling
  • Ventilation
  • Adjacent joinery and finishes
  • Access and installation requirements

Our design and manufacture are based on the drawings, dimensions and site information agreed with us.

Before production, we need the relevant dimensions and construction information to be confirmed.

If walls, floors, services or other site conditions change after approval, please let us know as early as possible. Changes that affect our design or manufacture may have cost or programme implications.

The site should be ready for the agreed installation works before our team arrives. Depending on the project, this may include:

  • Completed structural and building works
  • Floors at the agreed level
  • Walls prepared to the agreed dimensions
  • Relevant first-fix services in position
  • Suitable access to the property
  • A clear and safe working area
  • Protection of finished surrounding surfaces where required

We will confirm the project-specific requirements ahead of installation.

Unless they are specifically included within our quotation, Boon does not carry out plumbing, electrical work, tiling, decorating, structural work, general building work or other third-party trades.

We will provide the relevant information needed for those works to coordinate with the joinery.

Where specialist suppliers are involved — such as stone fabricators or appliance suppliers — we can coordinate the dimensions and interfaces relevant to our work.

We’ll agree an indicative programme for design, manufacture, delivery and installation.

Because each project is made to order, the programme can be affected by design approval, material availability, changes to scope and site readiness.

If the site programme changes, we ask that you tell us as early as possible so that we can coordinate our workshop and installation schedule accordingly.

Working together

For us, a good contractor relationship comes down to clarity.

Clear drawings.
Clear responsibilities.
Clear sequencing.
Early communication when something changes.

That gives everyone the best chance of delivering the room as it was designed.
